Julie is a freelance digital storyteller interested in questions of ideological production, consumption, and other ways that visual media and narratives influence and shape individuals. She began studying cultural aesthetics and the production of visual signification while performing as a dancer with the Boston Ballet and Lyon Opera Ballet. She has since pursued more formal studies in aesthetics and media production, and conducted research on ways in which dance contributes to cultural discourse. Currently she creates visual narratives from digital sources and contemplates the articulation of new media in contemporary culture.
